Together for Social Europe campaign
This campaign aims to improve European decision-makers knowledge of the social realities of people coming from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, people who SOLIDAR member organisations work with and provide services for. Focusing on the issues of social services, social/active inclusion, migration and integration, decent work and volunteering, the campaign has published a series of briefings and a document bringing together the other case studies on these key topics and is holding a series of activities bringing social realities to EU decision makers:
This conference, hosted by Jan Cremers MEP, which SOLIDAR organised in partnership with the Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS), and with the kind support of the Socialist Group in the European Parliament, brought the experiences of social workers working with poor and vulnerable people on a daily basis to the heart of EU democracy, the European Parliament. Read the programme and see the presentations.
As a result of this event, a Declaration (FR | ES | DE) was launched by 50 social workers and SOLIDAR members from all over Europe putting forward 6 recommendations to the European institutions on how to improve social Europe.
SOLIDAR members organised activities on a national level on issues of relevance to them.
A series of Expert Round Tables have been organised with MEPs to confront them with the social realities of people living in Europe and around the world and ask what they plan to do about it:
