SOLIDAR Foundation hosted the second Study Tour within the framework of the CISU Project “New decent job opportunities for youth in Serbia”, which took place in Brussels on 13 and 14th January 2018.
The two-day event was organised by SOLIDAR Foundation together with SOLIDAR Foundation members FIC (Denmark) and IDC (Serbia). The other project partners also participated in the study visit, including two representatives from the Serbian Association of Employers, two from the Serbian Trade Union SSSS and two from the Serbian Trade Union Nezavisnost.
On the first day, the participants had the opportunity to attend an informative session at the European Parliament about the S&D Group’s work on youth employment, decent job opportunities and access to the labour market. After the informative session at the European Parliament, participants went to the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) to learn more about the Workers’ Group (Group II).
On Tuesday, 14 November, participants met at SOLIDAR Foundation’s offices where various Social Partners and Civil Society Organisations introduced their work relating to the project, and there was a roundtable with representatives of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC), the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) and Business Europe.
For many years, SOLIDAR Foundation has worked in cooperation with civil society and social partners in the Western Balkans to promote social progress and ensure the social dimension in the EU Enlargement process. Through participation in this project we will continue to support developing the capacity of civil society organisations and social partners to enhance the economic, social and cultural rights of the most vulnerable groups, notably young people.
