SOLIDAR Training Academy 3-4 October 2018 | Zagreb, Croatia
Being able to attend and participate in our various events is one of the many benefits for our SOLIDAR member organisations. For our Training Academy 2018, we gathered in the vibrant city of Zagreb to discuss the changing and challenging environment for European civil society organizations.
What did we do exactly?
- The main objective of the academy was to engage participants with European developments in the social policy area (European Pillar of Social Rights, European Semester) and thereby learn tools to advocate more effectively on the local, national and European level.
- Spur the discussion on the future of Europe and its social dimension particularly in light of the upcoming European elections in May 2019.
- Exchange members’ good practices on cooperation within and beyond national borders as well as reflecting and working on strategies to best counter anti-democratic and nationalist developments
- Learn about the civic space in Croatia, EU’s most recent Member State, in regards to possibilities of cooperation, best-practice and partnership building.
We want to thank all participants for their active involvement and participation in this year’s Training Academy. Also, we would like to extend our thanks to our Croatian partner Centre for Peace Studies, and in particular to Maja Pleić, for their great support and help on site.
