The 9th edition of the Lifelong Learning Week took place in the European Parliament on 2-6 December 2019. It was a dense week of debates, discussions and reflections upon the LLLP’s theme of the year: Learning democracy, values and participation: the added value of lifelong learning.
The week kicked off with a lively Lifelong Learning Civil Society Forum in the splendid framework of Town Hall Europe. Civil society organisations active in education and training debated their own role vis-à-vis the latest EU policy and their contribution to its development in the European Union. Important decision-makers took part such as MEP Dace Melbarde, host of the LLLWeek 2019 and Themis Christophidou, Director-General for Education, Youth, Sports and Culture. A joyful reception concluded the evening, with the celebration of the LLLAwards winners’ outstanding practices (click here to meet them!).
SOLIDAR Foundation brought a delegation of its members to participate in the events, contribute to the debates and to get to know better the work of the Lifelong Learning Platform. SOLIDAR Foundation represents the non-formal education providers within the platform and advocates for a cross-sectoral approach and the inclusion of learners regardless of their socio-economic situation.
