Since 1999, when the Decent Work concept was launched by the International Labour Organisation (ILO), SOLIDAR has been working together with its members, partners and allies to promote decent work for a decent life for all. The main elements of Decent Work are employment creation, workers’ rights, social protection and social dialogue.
Launched publicly in January 2007, Decent Work for a Decent Life is a global campaign jointly led by an alliance of civil society organisations, the trade union movement and progressive political forces: SOLIDAR, the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), Global Progressive Forum, World Solidarity/Social Alert and the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC).
The EU-funded Jobs, Jobs, Jobs Project has been a key component of the Decent Work campaign and activities to promote Decent Work are also organised in the context of the project.
