5th Sirius consortium meeting hosted by University of Florence

The fifth meeting of the Sirius project partnership was held in Florence on 14 and 15 November. Hosted by the project partner University of Florence, during the meeting we focused on different project results, more specifically concerning the work packages four, six, seven and eight. In reference to work package eight, entrusted to SOLIDAR, the main communication and dissemination activities and events planned for 2020, the last year of the project, were discussed and planned.

On the first day Professor Chiara Favalli led a policy workshop on “Recent immigration policies in Italy”, a topic of great inspiration and interest for the project partners and the participants. The "Paint Your University" performance also took place on 14 November at the University of Florence, on the Campus of Social Sciences. Some young migrants, guests of the social cooperative “Il Cenacolo”, and three artists from the United Paintings organisation worked on the pictorial decoration of some carpets. At the same time, research was published on “The Emerging Role of NGOs in the Labour Market Integration of Migrants in Finland” drafted by Ilona Bontenbal and Nathan Lillie, Professors at University of Jyväskylä, and partners of Sirius project.

SIRIUS has a mixed methods approach and innovative dissemination plan involving online priority action networks, film essays, festivals, job fairs and an applied game along with scientific and policy dialogue workshops and conferences.
