Meet the SOLIDAR Silver Rose awardees… The Soledad Cazorla Prieto Fund

Within the SOLIDAR Network many activities are carried out aimed at contributing to ending all forms of discrimination against all women and girls; eliminate all harmful practices, such as child, early and forced marriage and female genital mutilation; ensure women’s full and effective participation and equal opportunities for leadership at all levels of decision-making in political, economic and public life. For the network it’s of grave importance to underline that gender equality should be high on the European political Agenda. This year’s Silver Rose Jury couldn’t agree more which is reflected by the nomination of the Soledad Cazorla Prieto Fund for an Award in the category of Together for Social Europe. The Fund was an initiative by the Fundacion Mujeres, who assigned financial support for personal development and studies to children who lost their mother as a consequence of domestic and gender violence. It’s is with these reasons that the Silver Rose Jury greatly welcomed the nomination submitted by of Immaculada Rodriguez-Pinero and Ines Ayala Sender, both Members of S&D Group in the European Parliament.

On 23rd of January Marisa Soleto Avila, Managing Director of the Soledad Cazorla Prieto Fund will be accepting their Silver Rose Awards in the European Parliament in Brussels. The ceremony will be the occasion to hear their story and get a glimpse of what their work is all about. Join us to officially recognise the extraordinary work of the awardees and their efforts to advance social justice in Europe and worldwide.

This is their story

Throughout her career her efforts have been dedicated to the development of public policies securing equal opportunities.
