SOLIDAR is organising - together with our members Internationaler Bund (IB) und Institut für Sozialarbeit und Sozialpädagogik - a two-day Study Visit and Social Affairs Forum in Mannheim/Germany.
SOLIDAR members will have the opportunity to visit two projects by the Internationaler Bund located in Mannheim:
Project 1: Residential group for unaccompanied refugees. Together with people living in the neighbourhood of the transition homes, it is involved in making sure that immigrants are welcomed through activities and events, and by taking a clear position. The IB Youth Migration Service in Mannheim works with a residential group and is aimed at minor male refugees aged 13 or older, who show a high willingness and motivation for a life in Germany and also have the maturity to prepare slowly for their own independence.
Project 2: Language courses and youth migration services. Life-long learning and political education are tasks which concern IB both as an independent field of work and as a cross-sectional task in its educational work. In Mannheim, youth migration services are aimed at young people and young adults with an immigration background who are between 12 and 27 years old, especially those who are new at school or are no longer compulsorily at school.
Registration for members only is open until 20 October 2017.
