Last week, Social Economy Europe called for the renewal of the Social Economy Intergroup in the European Parliament. SOLIDAR wholeheartedly supports this initiative! During the last legislature, the Intergroup was supported by 80 MEPs from six political groups. Since 1990, it has served to ensure a permanent dialogue between the European Parliament and organisations active in the social economy.
Many of these organisations provide social services that will play a key role in the implementation of the principles of the European Pillar of Social Rights. It is therefore important that their voices continue to be heard and their specific work-model is considered in the decisions taken by the European Parliament.
