Building learning societies: Empowering people through non-formal and informal learning

This briefing paper presents the work of SOLIDAR Foundation members. Through highlighting their work on local level, we show innovative and effective ways of addressing current social and economic challenges. Our examples demonstrate how people can be empowered through non-formal and informal learning. Non-formal and informal learning can be a stepping-stone for further personal development – and thus a way to access further opportunities for learning and employment, especially for those seeking “another second chance”.
