Case study 'The experience of an intermediary association fighting against long term unemployment'
An intermediary association is an organisation that promotes integration through economic activity and is certified by the state to take action on aspecific area. Its goal is to hire people facing difficulties in finding a job, in order to contribute to their vocational integration, offering them job placements that match their skills and their career plans. Those temporary job placements involve secondment to private individuals, associations, firms or local authorities. It aims to enable the job seekers to access and enjoy protection of their social rights, to support the realisation of their vocational aspirations and to facilitate access to sustainable employment. Solidarité 58 (www.solidarite58.fr) is an intermediary organisation based in Nevers. It is a member organisation of the local federation of la Ligue de l’enseignement.
