First training session of the Global Educators Development Forum (GEDF) programme

On October 27, SOLIDAR Foundation hosted the very first training session of the Global Educators Development Forum (GEDF) programme in cooperation with IFWEA in the framework of the Y-GAP programme.

The GEDF involved 29 participants and elaborated on the root meaning of advocacy, understanding how to address concrete goals and issues. It also touched upon how to identify relevant stakeholders and audiences, and how to carry out advocacy on different levels (local – national – international).

The training aimed also at strengthening the capacity of the professional learning community among Members Organizations in particular enhancing digital learning through online methods of non-formal education. The program improved the 29 participants’ capacity to define their advocacy efforts and achieve credibility, exposure, and recognition as advocacy activists, contributing to expanding the achievements of their organizations as well. Part of the outcome has also been allowing the participants to try their hand at drafting advocacy actions relevant to them, hoping to empower them to further these actions in their professional and activist lives.
