December 1 @ 2:30 pm - December 2 @ 9:30 pm

The SOLIDAR Days are back! The SOLIDAR Days are a moment for SOLIDAR’s members, partners and the wider network come together for events, strategy meetings, panels, and networking opportunities concluding with our annual Silver Rose Awards Ceremony. The SOLIDAR Days will take place between Tuesday 1 December and Wednesday 2 December.
This year, with the negotiations of the next EU budget in full swing, we are asserting the need to strengthen and safeguard our social Europe. In this context, we not only need to protect the progress we’ve made, but put pressure on our leaders to remain ambitious. The SOLIDAR Days have an important role to foster a meaningful space of exchange, development, and movement-building to strengthen our membership and the progressive movement at large.
There are several public events taking place within the framework of the SOLIDAR Days.
No rights without social investment: Will the next EU budget protect a social Europe?
Tuesday 1 December, 14:30-16:30
European Parliament
Taking place at a pivotal moment in the negotiations, the SOLIDAR Social Europe Conference 2026 will explore how the next EU budget can translate the Union’s social and environmental goals into concrete commitments. It will examine the role of the MFF in supporting quality jobs, social inclusion, skills, quality public services and a just green transition. Drawing on the preliminary findings of the Social Rights Monitor, the event will connect evidence of gaps in the delivery of social rights with the political and financial choices that will shape the next EU budget. Looking ahead to the interinstitutional negotiations, the discussion will focus on how Parliament’s social and environmental priorities can be maintained as negotiations with the Council and the Commission move forward.
The conference will also explore how civil society and national stakeholders can support progressive forces within the Parliament, influence Member State positions and build wider public support for an EU budget that invests in equality, social cohesion, sustainability and the resilience of people and communities.

Ghent, and the University of Gloucestershire. The conference builds on the materials developed under CLADES Resource Lab 1 and 2,
opening them up to a wider European audience. The event aims to engage education and training stakeholders from across Europe, including academics, stakeholders working in formal and non-formal education, and EU level policymakers. Participants will engage
with the materials, exchange experiences with peers, and feed structured input back into the project while discussing the project’s results and their relevance to the wider EU policy agenda on lifelong learning.
