This half-day hybrid Final Conference marks the culmination of the EMPASY project (Emotional Literacy and Participatory Approaches to Support Youth Mental Health), bringing together youth workers, civil society organisations, researchers, policymakers, and EU institutional representatives from across Europe and the Southern Mediterranean.

The conference is structured around four key moments: evidence, practice, field perspectives, and policy.

The opening sessions will present research findings from Lebanon, Morocco, and Jordan, exploring the role of emotional literacy and participatory approaches in addressing the mental health and wellbeing challenges faced by young people. Participants will then engage with the EMPASY Handbooks and training methodologies developed and tested during the project, with reflections from practitioners and implementing partners.

Following, a panel discussion with youth workers and partner organisations from the target countries will bring field perspectives and lessons learned into the room.

The conference will close with a high-level policy roundtable on mainstreaming youth participation and emotional empowerment in European and regional policies, bringing together MEPs, European Commission representatives, and civil society representatives.

By the end of the conference, participants will have explored what emotional empowerment and youth participation look like in practice, engaged with concrete policy recommendations, and contributed to a broader EU–Southern Mediterranean dialogue on youth mental health.
