The Civil Society Alliance for Global Citizenship Education has been launched this summer! A dynamic new coalition of civil society organisations working to embed the values of global citizenship education, solidarity, and sustainability at the heart of education systems across Europe and beyond.

The Alliance brings together around 25 organisations from across Europe with a shared commitment to advancing Global Citizenship Education in Europe. Through campaigning, advocacy, awareness-raising, capacity building, and the development of learning materials, our members work to promote GCE from the perspectives of education policy, international cooperation, and sustainable development. Its members bring diverse experience in global citizenship education, and are united by a belief in education as a transformative force to empower individuals and communities to contribute to a more just, inclusive, and sustainable world.

The Alliance is coordinated during its founding year (April 2025 – April 2026) by a rotating Coordination Group, composed of SOLIDAR Foundation, the European Association for the Education of Adults (EAEA), and Südwind.
